An assistant will be needed to complete the job.
Removal
1. Prepare the vehicle for operations (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the rear license plate lights (see "Rear License Plate Light - Removing and Replacing Bulbs").
3. Remove the lock and cylinder (see above, "Trunk lid lock and cylinder - removal and installation").
4. Remove the rubber sealing washer from the hole in the inner panel of the trunk lid.

5. Pull out the wiring harness of the rear license plate lights.

6. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the nut and remove the ground wire from the cover stud.

7. Holding the trunk lid, unscrew the remaining three nuts securing it to the hinges and remove the trunk lid.

Installation
1. Install the trunk lid on the hinges without completely tightening the nuts that secure it to the hinges.
The original can be seen on the website: VAZBOOK
2. Close the lid and make sure the gaps are uniform. Carefully open the lid and finally tighten the nuts.
3. Install the lock and the trunk lock cylinder.
4. We tie the wire to the wiring harness of the rear license plate lights and push it through the technological holes in the inner panel.
5. If necessary, adjust the position of the lock retainer by loosening the two retainer mounting bolts with a 10 mm socket or open-end wrench. By moving the retainer left and right, we achieve a tight closure of the lid with uniform gaps around the perimeter. Tighten the bolts.

6. Further assembly is carried out in reverse order.
