We remove the molding for replacement, as well as for metalwork and painting work on body parts. We show the work using the example of removing the driver's door molding.
Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the door trim (see "Front door trim - removal and installation") and move the protective film aside.
3. Using pliers, squeeze the tabs of the rear door molding retainer and push it out of the hole in the outer door panel.
4. Remove the retainer from the molding.
5. Move the molding along the fasteners towards the rear of the car.
6. If necessary, remove the remaining fasteners from the door.
Installation
1. Replace the removed fasteners with new ones.
2. Installation of the molding is performed in reverse order.
