Vehicle Identification Numbers (VAZ-2107)

Factory data summary plate (Fig. 1) is attached to the lower shelf of the air intake box. It indicates the engine model, spare parts number, year of manufacture, manufacturing variant, and the top line contains coded data that is deciphered as follows: the first three letters indicate the geographic area, country and plant (X - Europe, T - USSR, A - Volga Automobile Plant); the next six digits are the car model; the next one is a letter of the Latin alphabet, indicating the model year of the car (H - 1987, J - 1988, K - 1989, etc.); the last seven digits are the chassis number (for a passenger car it corresponds to the chassis number).



Engine model and number stamped on the cylinder block lug, to the left of the fuel pump.

Model and body number are stamped on the bottom shelf of the air intake box, next to the summary plate of factory data.
