Pic. 9. Controls for ventilation and interior heating:
1 - side nozzles; 2 - outdoor air inflow regulator; 3 - lever for changing the direction of air flow; 4 - central nozzles; 5 - heater tap control lever; 6 - control lever for the air intake hatch cover; 7 - distribution lever; 8 - rear window heating switch; 9 - heater cover lever; 10 - three-position heater electric fan switch.
Cabin ventilation
Outside air can enter the vehicle interior:
- with the windows of the doors down;
- through the upper nozzles on the instrument panel, if you move the distribution lever 7 to the right (pic. 9) and lever 6 for controlling the air intake hatch cover;
- through the side nozzles 1 on the instrument panel, if you move the lever 6 to the right, and the lever 7 to the left;
- through the openings of the heater casing, if you open the heater cover with lever 9 and move lever 6 to the right;
- through the central nozzles 4 directly from the air intake box when the car is moving, if the nozzle dampers are opened with regulators 2 (summer airflow).
By moving the lever 3 in the horizontal and vertical directions, the direction of the air flow from the nozzle changes.
In the middle position of lever 7 and in the right extreme position of lever 6, air will flow through both the upper and side nozzles.
If the vehicle is moving at a low speed, you can increase the amount of incoming air by turning on the heater electric fan with switch 10.
Anti-fog windshield, front door glass and rear window
To protect the windshield and front door windows from fogging, it is enough to send cold air to them, for which:
- close the heater cover with lever 9;
- move lever 6 to the right, and set lever 7 to the middle position;
- Install the side nozzle guide vanes so that the airflow is directed towards the front door windows.
If you need to slightly warm up the incoming air, move the lever 5 of the heater tap control partially to the right. Turn on the heater fan if necessary.
To protect the rear window from fogging, turn on its electric heating with switch 8.
Interior heating
For heating the car interior and protecting the windshield, front door windows, rear window from fogging and freezing:
- move levers 5 and 6 to the right;
- set lever 7 to the middle position;
- open the heater cover with lever 9;
- turn on the heated rear window;
- turn on the heater electric fan if necessary;
- Install the side nozzle guide vanes so that the airflow is directed towards the front door windows.
Warm air will be directed both to the driver's and passengers' feet, and to the windshield and front door windows. For faster heating of only the windshield, close the heater cover and move lever 7 to the right.
