Fuses and fuses (VAZ-21061)

Connecting power sources (battery, generator) and consumers are made according to a single-wire scheme. The function of the second wire is performed by the body ("ground"), to which the negative terminals are connected. The schemes of the electrical equipment of cars are presented in Applications. A combined ignition switch, consisting of a contact part and a mechanical anti-theft device with a lock, serves to switch the main circuits of the car. Switches for external lighting, fog lights, and rear window heating (on car parts) are installed in the instrument panel. The hazard warning switch, brake fluid low level indicator, instrument lighting switch, and cigarette lighter are located on the radio panel insert. The headlight switches, turn signal switches, windshield wiper and washer switches are combined into a block of steering column switches. High-power electrical consumers (headlights, windshield wipers, etc.) are switched on via electromagnetic relays.

The radiator of the cooling system is blown by an electric fan. The fan motor is switched on automatically via a sensor switch (previously, power was supplied to it through a relay using a signal from a temperature sensor).

On the back panel (in the trunk) the luggage compartment light is fixed.

Warning! The circuits for the horn, cigarette lighter, brake light power supply, interior lights, portable lamp socket, and hazard warning lights are always live.

Vehicle electrical system circuits (except for the starter power circuit) are protected by fuses, which are installed in the main and additional blocks. They are located under the instrument panel on the driver's side.

The circuits protected by the fuses are shown in the table.

Attention!

• 1. When repairing electrical equipment, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery (with ignition off).
• 2. Before installing a new fuse to replace a blown one, find out and eliminate the cause of the blown fuse.
• 3. Do not use fuses with a higher rating or homemade ones - this may lead to burnout of the electrical wiring and even cause a fire.
