Replacing fuses (VAZ-2105)

Fuses 1 (Fig. 43) can be installed in mounting blocks of two types, variants A and B, together with relays 3 of different purposes. The mounting block is closed at the top with a cover, on which are applied symbols indicating the purpose of the relay, the fuse numbers and the circuits they protect. The current strength for which the fuse is rated is indicated on its front side (variant A). To replace a blown fuse in variant A, remove the cover, use special key 4 to remove the blown fuse and insert a spare fuse from slot 2 with the appropriate rating. In variant B, the fuse can be removed by hand and a spare fuse from slot 2 with the appropriate rating can be inserted. If the fuse fails again, contact an authorized service center to determine and eliminate the causes that caused it to melt.

The circuits protected by fuses are shown in Table 3.

On a vehicle with a fuel injection system, a relay and fuse box is additionally installed under the glove compartment. 15 A fuses protect the circuits:

black block - purge valve of the adsorber;
speed sensor;
oxygen concentration sensor, green block - controller;
ignition module, red block - electric fuel pump relay;
electric fuel pump;
nozzle.

Fuses do not protect the ignition, engine start, or generator circuits (except for the excitation winding).

Before replacing a blown fuse, find out and eliminate the reason that caused it to melt.
