Rear Suspension Shock Details: 1 - shock absorber (2101-2915402-04); 2 - washer (2101-2915544-01); 3 - shock absorber cushion (2101-2906231); 4 - spacer sleeve (2101-2915546); 5 - bolt M12x1.25x140 (15542021); 6 - nut M12x1.25 (16101511); 7 - spacer sleeve (2101-291555); 8 - remote washer (2101-2915547-10)
The shock absorber is replaced when fluid leaks from it or the ability to dampen vibrations is lost (car rocking while driving). Shock absorbers should be replaced on both sides, even if one of them is intact.
Removing
1. We install the car on a viewing hole or overpass (see "Vehicle preparation for maintenance and repair"). When doing this work on a horizontal platform, which is less convenient, remove the wheel (see "Wheel - replacement") and with a jack we raise the rear axle from the side of the shock absorber to be replaced.
2. Using a 19 mm wrench, unscrew the nut of the shock absorber mounting bolt to the rear axle bracket, holding the bolt from turning with a wrench of the same size.
3. Remove the bolt from the bracket lugs, remove the spacer and spacer bushings from it.
4. Using a 19 mm wrench, unscrew the self-locking nut securing the shock absorber rod to the body and remove the shock absorber.
Installation
1. We install new rubber bushings in the shock absorber eyes.
2. Installation of the shock absorber is carried out in the reverse order.
Similarly, we replace the second shock absorber.
