Ignition distributor — disassembly (VAZ-2107)

Rotor shaft - removal

1. Remove the distributor (see "Ignition distributor - removal and installation").

2. Using a rag, clean the outer surface of the distributor from dirt.

3. Using a punch, knock out the spring pin securing the distributor shaft coupling by a few millimeters.



4. Using pliers, remove the pin from the oil deflector coupling.



5. Remove the coupling with the washer from the shaft and take the shaft out of the distributor housing.

Capacitor - removal

1. Using a 7 mm wrench, loosen the nut securing the forked end of the capacitor wire and move the end to the side.

2. Using a slotted screwdriver, unscrew the screw securing the capacitor and remove it.

Vacuum Regulator - Removal

1. Using a slotted screwdriver, move the lock washer from the regulator rod axis.

2. Using the same tool, unscrew the two screws securing the regulator to the body.



3. Disconnect the regulator from the distributor housing.

Contact group - removal

1. Use a slotted screwdriver to hold the screw from turning and use a 7 mm wrench to unscrew the two nuts that secure it.



2. Remove the screw with the insulating sleeve from the distributor housing and remove the contact group wire tip from it.



3. Using a slotted screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the contact group to the movable plate (see "Angle of the closed state of the breaker contacts - checking and adjustment").

4. Remove the contact group.

Breaker Sliding Plate - Removal

1. Remove the rotor shaft from the distributor housing and disconnect the contact group from the movable plate (see above).

2. Using a slotted screwdriver, unscrew the screws that secure the two retaining plates of the breaker's movable plate to the housing. One of the screws also secures the tip of the "ground" wire.



3. Remove the movable plate with the bearing from the distributor housing.



The bearing should rotate smoothly, without jamming. Otherwise, replace it.

Assembly

The distributor is assembled in the reverse order.
