We replace the oil pump if the oil pressure in the engine is insufficient or excessive when idling.
Removal
1. Place the vehicle on an inspection pit or overpass (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the engine oil pan (see "Engine oil pan - removal and installation").
3. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two oil pump mounting bolts. The pump mounting bolts are of different lengths.

4. Remove the oil pump and sealing gasket.

Installation
1. Before installing a new pump, replace the sealing gasket.
2. Installation of all removed parts is performed in reverse order.
3. Fill the engine with oil (see "Engine Oil - Checking Level and Replacement").
