The thrust sealing ring 6 of the gland, made of graphite composition, is pressed against the impeller end face, hardened by high-frequency currents to a depth of 2... 3 mm. The gland is non-separable, pressed into the pump body and prevents leakage of coolant. In case of liquid passing through a damaged gland, there is a drain hole in the body under the bearing for its drainage.
To relieve the axial load from the shaft, two holes are made in the impeller, which connect the cavities on both sides of the impeller and equalize the pressure of the coolant on the impeller in these cavities.
