Pic. 32. Coolant pump:
1 - bearing lock screw; 2 - pump housing; 3 - cylinder block; 4 - impeller; 5 - bearing roller; 6 - a persistent sealing ring of an epiploon; 7 - rubber cuff of the stuffing box; 8 - bearing; 9 - toothed pulley.
To the end of the impeller, hardened by high-frequency currents to a depth of 2... 3 mm, a thrust sealing ring 6 of the stuffing box, made of graphite composition, is pressed. The stuffing box is non-separable, pressed into the pump housing and prevents leakage of coolant. In the event of fluid passing through a damaged stuffing box, there is a drain hole in the housing under the bearing to drain it.
To remove the axial load from the roller, two holes are made in the impeller, which connect the cavities on both sides of the impeller and equalize the pressure of the coolant on the impeller in these cavities.
