Description of the design
The body of the VAZ-2106 car is of the "sedan" type, a supporting structure, three-volume, four-door. The body frame consists of a sub-engine frame with mudguards, floor panels with reinforcing crossbars and thresholds, front and rear panels, etc. The body parts and units are made by stamping and connected to each other by welding.
Removable panels and components: hood, doors, trunk lid, fuel filler flap.
The main door windows are drop-down. The front windows are additionally equipped with rotating windows, and the rear windows have a small fixed window. The rear-view mirror is mounted on the outside of the front doors. The windshield is shatterproof, three-layered, polished. The other windows are tempered and polished. The rear window can be equipped with a heating device.
At the front and rear of the body, chrome bumpers with rubber bumpers and plastic sidewalls are mounted on metal brackets.
The front seats are separate, with headrests, adjustable horizontally, and the seat backs are adjustable in tilt. The front and, in some versions, the rear seats are equipped with seat belts.
The dashboard in the car's interior contains: a combination of instruments, electrical switches, ventilation and heating controls, a storage compartment, a shelf, a cigarette lighter, and an ashtray.
A removable plastic radio panel is installed on the floor tunnel.
The heater radiator and the electric motor-driven fan are combined with a plastic casing installed under the instrument panel.
The floor of the passenger compartment is covered with a molded carpet on a waterproof base. Heat and noise insulation pads are laid under the carpet.
The luggage compartment trim is made of molded plastic.
The bottom of the car body is covered with BMP-1 composition or elastic mastic "Plastizol D11-A". The floor in the cabin is covered with bitumen sheets. The inner surfaces of the door panels are treated with bitumen mastic.
