We remove the upper suspension arm in case of mechanical damage or to replace the rubber-metal hinges.
Front suspension upper arm mounting parts: 1 - self-locking nut M14x1.5 (12574811); 2 - thrust washer (2101-2904196); 3 - rubber-metal hinge (2101-2904180); 4 - axis (2101-2904112); 5 - lever (2101-2904100/01)
To perform the work, you will need a device for pressing out and pressing in rubber-metal hinges.
Removal
1. Prepare the vehicle for operations (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the wheel (see "Wheel - replacement").
3. Remove the front bumper bracket mounting bolt (see "Front bumper - removal and installation").
4. Disconnect the ball joint from the upper arm (see "Ball joints - replacement").
5. Using a 22 mm socket wrench, unscrew the self-locking nut of the lever axle, holding the axle with a wrench of the same size.
6. Remove the axle and remove the upper suspension arm.
7. To remove the rubber-metal hinges, secure the lever in a vice. Using a special puller, press the rubber-metal hinges out of the lever.
Installation
1. Having changed the position of the puller parts, we press new rubber-metal hinges into the lever.
2. Install the lever and its axle without tightening its self-locking nut.
It is recommended to replace the self-locking nuts of the lever axle and ball joint pin with new ones.
3. Install the front bumper bracket mounting bolt.
4. Load the suspension with a jack and insert the ball joint pin into the steering knuckle. Secure the pin with a self-locking nut.

5. Without unloading the suspension, tighten the lever axle nut and install the wheel. Finally, tighten the axle nut with the car on its wheels.
6. After replacing the lever or rubber-metal hinges, it is recommended to check and, if necessary, adjust the front wheel alignment angles (see "Wheel alignment angles - adjustment").
