Details of fastening of the upper arm of the front suspension: 1 - self-locking nut M14x1.5 (12574811); 2 - thrust washer (2101-2904196); 3 - rubber-metal hinge (2101-2904180); 4 - axis (2101-2904112); 5 - lever (2101-2904100/01)
To perform the work, you will need a tool for pressing out and pressing in rubber-metal hinges.
Removing
1. We prepare the car for operations (see "Vehicle preparation for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the wheel (see "Wheel - replacement").
3. Remove the bolt of the front bumper bracket (see "Front bumper - removal and installation").
4. Disconnect the ball joint from the upper arm (see "Ball joints - replacement").
5. Using a 22 mm socket wrench, unscrew the self-locking nut of the lever axis, holding the axis with a wrench of the same size.
6. We take out the axle and remove the upper suspension arm.
7. To remove the rubber-metal hinges, we fix the lever in a vice. Using a special puller, we press rubber-metal hinges out of the lever.
Installation
1. Having changed the position of the parts of the puller, we press new rubber-metal hinges into the lever.
2. We install the lever and its axis without tightening its self-locking nut.
It is recommended to replace the self-locking nuts of the lever axis and the ball joint pin with new ones.
3. Install the front bumper bracket bolt.
4. We load the suspension with a jack and insert the ball joint pin into the steering knuckle. We fix the pin with a self-locking nut.
5. Without unloading the suspension, tighten the lever axle nut and install the wheel. We finally tighten the axle nut in the position of the car on wheels.
6. After replacing the lever or rubber-metal joints, it is recommended to check and, if necessary, adjust the alignment angles of the front wheels (see "Wheel alignment - adjustment").
