We replace rubber-metal hinges when the hinge in the lever rotates, elasticity is lost, the rubber element of the hinge is chipped or squeezed out of the seat.
To complete the job you will need a universal cup puller.
Removal
1. Remove the transverse suspension arm from the car (see above, "Transverse suspension arm - removal and installation").

Rubber-metal hinge (RMH) of the outer end of the lever (lever joints with longitudinal tension) consists of two separate parts.
To remove the outer end of the lever:
2. Clamp the lever in a vice and use a thin chisel to bend back the edges of the outer metal ring of one of the hinge halves.
3. Using a larger chisel, press out part of the hinge.
4. Press out the second part of the hinge in the same way.
To remove the inner end of the lever RMSh:
5. With a universal cup puller or a piece of pipe and a bolt with a nut and washers of a suitable diameter (the cylinder head mounting bolt will fit) we press out the rubber-metal hinge that attaches the lever to the body.
Installation
To install the RMSH of the outer end of the lever:
1. Using a vice and a thrust plate, press in the parts of the new hinge.
2. Finally, we seat the hinge parts using hammer blows through a mandrel of a suitable diameter.
To install the RMSH of the inner end of the lever:
3. Place the hinge on the bolt of the device and apply soapy water to the outer surface of the hinge.
4. By tightening the bolt nut, we press the hinge to the lever.
5. Using a slotted screwdriver, insert the edge of the hinge into the hole in the lever.
Tip: To make the job easier, you can tighten the rubber bushing with a clamp.
6. Completely press the hinge into the hole in the lever.
7. Install the lever on the car (see "Transverse suspension arm - removal and installation").
