Removal
1. Prepare the vehicle for operations (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Clean the air filter housing from dirt.
3. Using pliers, loosen the clamp securing the crankcase gas outlet hose.
4. Remove the hose from the fitting and take out the flame arrester from it.
5. Wash the flame arrester in acetone.
6. Loosen the clamp securing the warm air intake hose and remove the hose from the thermostat pipe.
7. Remove the air filter housing cover and take out the filter element (see "Air Filter Element - Replacement").
8. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, unscrew the four nuts on the filter mounting plate.

9. Remove the filter housing, mounting plate and rubber gasket from the carburetor studs, making sure that the spacer bushings do not fall out of the holes in the rubber gasket.
10. Clean the inner surface of the filter housing.
Installation
1. Installation of all removed parts is carried out in reverse order.
Caution! When installing the filter housing on the carburetor, tighten the nuts carefully, as excessive force will cause the threads in the fastening connections to break.
