Checking the camshaft bearing housing (VAZ-21011)

1. Wash and clean the camshaft bearing housing and oil supply passages.

2. Check the diameter of the holes in the bearings. If the gap between the camshaft journals and the bearings exceeds 0.2 mm (wear limit), replace the bearing housing.

3. The internal bearing surfaces must be smooth and free of burrs; if there is damage to the surfaces or cracks in the housing, replace the camshaft bearing housing.
