If the coolant temperature gauge needle on the instrument panel is in the red sector of the scale, and the electric fan does not turn on, then it is necessary to check the sensor. To do this, with the ignition on, short-circuit the wire tips that go to the sensor. If the electric fan does not turn on, this indicates a malfunction of the fan motor, and if it turns on, a malfunction of the sensor.
Removal
1. Place the vehicle on an inspection pit or overpass (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery (see "Battery - Removal and Installation").
3. Drain the coolant from the radiator (see "Coolant - Checking Level and Replacing").
4. Disconnect the wire ends from the sensor.
5. Key by 30 mm unscrew the sensor.
6. Remove the sensor.
Attention! To ensure a tight connection, a copper sealing ring is installed on the sensor, do not lose it.

To check the sensor's functionality, connect the tester probes to its contacts and place the threaded part of the sensor in a container with water. Heat the water and use a thermometer to monitor the temperature of the sensor's contacts closing and opening, which should correspond to a temperature of 92 and 87°C
Installation
1. Install the electric fan switch sensor in the reverse order.
2. Add coolant to the radiator (see "Coolant - Checking Level and Replacing").
