The radiator electric fan consists of an electric motor, an impeller and a casing.
We remove the electric fan to replace its parts or when removing the radiator.
Removal
1. Disconnect the impeller electric motor wire connectors.
2. Disconnect the wire ends from the electric fan switch sensor (see "Electric Fan Switch Sensor - Replacement").
3. With a socket wrench by 10 mm we unscrew two bolts securing the casing to the radiator on the left side and one on the right.
4. Lift the electric fan, simultaneously pulling the sensor wire casing out of the two clamps located on the casing.
5. Using pliers, squeeze the tabs of the sensor wire casing clamps and push the clamps out of the casing.
6. Remove the electric fan.
7. To replace the fan motor with a socket wrench by 13 mm we unscrew the nut that secures the impeller to the electric motor shaft, holding the impeller with our hand.
8. Remove the impeller from the shaft.
9. Using pliers, squeeze the petals of the electric motor wire retainer and push the retainer out of the casing.
10. With a socket wrench by 10 mm we unscrew the three nuts that secure the electric motor to the casing.
11. Remove the electric motor.
Installation
Assembly and installation of the electric fan is carried out in the reverse order.
