Windshield replacement (VAZ-2115)

1. To remove a damaged windshield, remove the wiper arms, tuck the edges of the seal at the top behind the body opening flange and, pressing on the upper corners of the glass, push it out.

An assistant should support the glass from the outside.



2. Remove the seal from the glass.

3. Before installing the windshield, wash the grooves of the seal 1 with water (see fig.) and blow with compressed air.

4. Place the seal on the glass.



5. Lubricate the groove of the seal, where it is installed on the body flange, with glycerin or soap solution.



6. Using a screwdriver, insert cord 1 into the groove (see fig.).

7. Install the glass in the body opening and then, pulling the ends of the cord 1 from the seal inside the body, make sure that the glass with the seal 2 sits in place. The assistant should lightly press on the glass from the outside. If the glass does not fit, check the dimensions of the body opening using the glass without the seal. Correct any deviations in the dimensions of the opening by straightening.

8. Replace the rear door, side and rear glass in the same way as the windshield.
