1. Spare parts may come without electrolyte, dry-charged. To bring such a battery into working condition, it is necessary to remove the existing technological plugs or sealing tape.

2. Then with a small stream, through a funnel (glass or acid-resistant plastic) fill the battery with electrolyte with a density (reduced to 25°C) of 1.28 g/cm³ for regions with a moderate climate and 1.23 g/cm³ for the tropics. Operations to bring the battery into working condition should be carried out at an ambient temperature of (25±10)°C.

3. Let the battery sit for 20 minutes to allow the plates and separators to soak in the electrolyte. Then check the battery voltage without load.

4. If the battery voltage is at least 12.5 V, it is ready for operation. If the voltage is less than 12.5 V but greater than 10.5 V, the battery must be recharged to the voltage specified by the manufacturer. If the voltage is less than or equal to 10.5 V, the battery is rejected.

5. As a result of impregnation of separators and plates, the electrolyte level in the battery will inevitably decrease. Therefore, before installing the battery on the car, it is necessary to bring the level to the norm, adding electrolyte of the same density as at the beginning of filling.

6. It is necessary to charge the battery after filling with electrolyte if:
  • the initial operation of the battery will take place in difficult conditions: in cold weather, with frequent engine starts, etc.;
  • the battery has been stored for more than 12 months from the date of manufacture.
