We replace rubber-metal hinges when they are worn out or damaged.
To perform the work, you will need a device for pressing out and pressing in rubber-metal hinges.
Removal
1. Prepare the vehicle for operations (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the wheel (see "Wheel - replacement").
[The original can be viewed on the portal VazBook.ru]
3. Key by 22 mm we unscrew the self-locking nuts of the lever axis on both sides and remove the thrust washers.

4. Screw the hollow bolt of the puller onto the lower arm axis and, holding the bolt from turning, tighten the nut. At the same time, the puller cup presses on the lever, pressing it off the rubber-metal hinge.

5. Remove the hinge from the lever.

6. Similarly, press out the hinge from the opposite side of the axle.
Installation
1. Center the new rubber-metal hinge in the hole in the lever.
2. To prevent the lever from moving relative to the axis during pressing of the joint, we put a thrust washer on the axis from the opposite side and tighten the old self-locking nut.
3. Install the puller on the lever axis and tighten the nut. The puller cup presses on the rubber-metal hinge flange, pressing it into the lever (when pressing the hinge, a smaller diameter cup is installed on the puller than when pressing it out).

4. After unscrewing the screw, release the puller. Install the thrust washer on the axle and screw in a new self-locking nut without tightening it.
5. Similarly, we press in the hinge on the other side of the lever and, having installed the washer, tighten the new nut.
6. Having installed the car on its wheels, we finally tighten the nuts securing the lower suspension arm to its axle.
