Replacing the ignition distributor (VAZ-21061)

Remove the distributor cap (see Replacing the distributor rotor).

Let's remember (or mark) position of the rotor contact plate.



We remove the hose from the nipple of the vacuum regulator of ignition timing.



Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the nut and remove the locking plate.



We remove the ignition distributor from the cylinder block,...





…without losing the sealing gasket.



Using a 7 mm spanner, unscrew the nut, remove the low voltage wire tip from the terminal and connect it to the terminal of the new regulator.

We install the distributor in the cylinder block and adjust the ignition timing angle (see Adjusting the ignition timing angle).
