It is possible to measure the characteristics of vacuum and centrifugal regulators only on special equipment.
Using a screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the rotor.
We remove the rotor.
When installing the rotor in place, the square protrusion should be placed in the slot, and the round protrusion in the hole in the base plate.
We knock out the cotter pin with a thin beard.
Remove the oil deflector and washer from the shaft.
We take out the roller from the distributor housing.
Prying with a thin screwdriver, remove the lock washer of the thrust of the vacuum ignition timing controller.
We remove the thrust from the pin of the rotary plate.
We unscrew the two screws securing the vacuum ignition timing regulator
One of the screws has an extension to fix the sensor wiring.
Remove the vacuum regulator.
To check the vacuum regulator, we sink its stem and close the fitting hole with a finger. For a working regulator, the stem should extend only a part of its length; if the stem immediately extends to its full length, the part is faulty. We replace the regulator.
Loosen the two screws securing the sensor.
We take out the wiring of the sensor.
Unscrew the two screws securing the connector..
... and remove the sensor. Sensor malfunctions are more often associated with mechanical damage to the wires.
Loosen two screws..
... and take out the bearing with the rotary plate.
The bearing during rotation should not seize and have play. We assemble the ignition distributor in the reverse order of disassembly.
Before installing the vacuum regulator, carefully lay the sensor wiring.
We lubricate the roller bushings, the axles of the weights of the centrifugal regulator and the bearing of the turntable.
