Removing
1. We prepare the car for operations (see "Vehicle preparation for maintenance and repair").
2. We install the steering wheel in the direction of the rectilinear movement of the car.
3. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery (see "Battery - removal and installation").
4. Apply chalk matching marks on the steering wheel and instrument panel.
5. With a slotted screwdriver, carefully remove the plug with the factory logo.
6. Using a 24 mm socket wrench with an extension, unscrew the steering wheel nut to the shaft without removing it from the thread.
7. Alternately hitting the wheel with your palms, we pull it off the slots.
8. We finally unscrew the steering wheel mounting nut and remove the wheel, shaking in different directions, from the shaft.
Installation
1. Install the steering wheel in reverse order.
2. Orient the protrusions A of the contact ring of the horn switch in a vertical position.
3. We put the steering wheel on the splined end of the shaft, focusing on the previously applied marks. At the same time, protrusions A must enter the slots B of the wheel hub.
4. After installation, we check the correct position of the steering wheel on the shaft. When driving in a straight line, the steering wheel must be located symmetrically with respect to the vertical plane of the steering shaft. If necessary, we correct the position of the wheel by rearranging it on the splines of the shaft.
