Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Set the steering wheel in the direction of straight-line movement of the car.
3. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery (see "Battery - Removal and Installation").
4. Apply matching marks on the steering wheel and instrument panel with chalk.
5. Using a slotted screwdriver, carefully remove the plug with the plant emblem.
6. With a socket wrench by 24 mm using an extension, unscrew the nut that secures the steering wheel to the shaft without removing it from the thread.
7. By alternately hitting the wheel with your palms, we pull it off the splines.
8. Finally, unscrew the steering wheel mounting nut and remove the wheel from the shaft.
Installation
1. Install the steering wheel in reverse order.
2. Orient the protrusions in a vertical position A contact ring of the horn switch.
3. Place the steering wheel on the splined end of the shaft, using the marks previously applied as a guide. In this case, the protrusions A should fit into the slots B wheel bushings.
3. After installation, check the correct position of the steering wheel on the shaft. When the car is moving in a straight line, the steering wheel should be positioned symmetrically relative to the vertical plane of the steering shaft. If necessary, adjust the position of the wheel by repositioning it on the splines of the shaft.
