Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the left instrument panel console trim (see "Instrument panel - removal and installation").
3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the additional resistor of the heater electric fan.
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw securing the additional resistor (shown on a removed heater).
5. Remove the additional resistor from the heater.
Examination
1. By visual inspection we make sure that the coils are intact and that there is no charring or other damage.
2. Using a multimeter in ohmmeter mode, check the coils of the additional resistor for breakage. If a break is detected in one of the coils, replace the additional resistor.
Installation
We install the additional resistor in the reverse order of removal.
