Recommendation. Place the vehicle on a level surface before starting work.
Pointer (probe) oil level is located on the left side of the engine compartment next to the battery on the gearbox housing.
Warnings! Before checking the oil level after a trip, stop the engine and wait 5-10 minutes until the oil drains from the shafts and gears into the gearbox housing.
Top up with the same brand of oil as used previously.
The oil level in the gearbox housing should not be much higher than the mark «MAX», otherwise, leaks through gaskets and seals, as well as increased oil consumption, are possible.
Helpful advice. We recommend adding oil a little higher (by 5 mm) labels «MAX» on the probe to improve the working conditions of the fifth gear bearing, but not more than this amount.
1. Take out the pointer (probe) oil level from the hole in the gearbox housing.
2. Wipe the pointer with a rag.
3. Insert the pointer into place until it stops and remove it again. The oil level, determined by the oil film, must be between the marks «MIN» and «MAX» on the index (bottom and top ledges).
Helpful advice. In order to add oil to the gearbox, it is convenient to use a funnel with a rubber hose of a suitable section.
4. If the oil level is below the mark «MIN», add oil through the hole under the pointer to the mark «MAX» or a little higher (see «Helpful advice»). Insert pointer in place.
Note. If the gearbox is without an oil level indicator, the oil level should reach the lower edge of the oil filler hole. To check the level, you need to install the car on a viewing hole or lift and unscrew the oil filler plug from the gearbox housing from below.
