Recommendation: Before starting work, place the vehicle on a level surface.
The oil level indicator (dipstick) is located on the left side of the engine compartment next to the battery on the gearbox housing.
Warnings! Before checking the oil level after a trip, turn off the engine and wait 5-10 minutes until the oil drains from the shafts and gears into the gearbox housing.
Top up with oil of the same brand as previously used.
The oil level in the gearbox housing should not be much higher than the "MAX" mark, otherwise leaks through the gaskets and seals, as well as increased oil consumption, are possible.
Helpful advice: We recommend adding oil slightly above (5 mm) the "MAX" mark on the dipstick to improve the operating conditions of the fifth gear bearing, but not more than this amount.
1. Remove the oil level indicator (dipstick) from the hole in the gearbox housing.
2. Wipe the pointer with a cloth.
3. Insert the indicator into place until it stops and remove it again. The oil level, determined by the oil film, should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the indicator (lower and upper projections).
Helpful advice: To add oil to the gearbox, it is convenient to use a funnel with a rubber hose of a suitable cross-section.
4. If the oil level is below the "MIN" mark, add oil through the hole under the indicator to the "MAX" mark or slightly higher (see "Helpful advice"). Insert the indicator into place.
Note: If the gearbox does not have an oil level indicator, the oil level should reach the lower edge of the oil filler hole. To check the level, place the car on an inspection pit or lift and unscrew the oil filler plug from the bottom of the gearbox housing.
