Sequence of execution
1. Prepare the vehicle for operations (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Press the clamps to disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor.
3. Connect the negative probe of the voltmeter to the engine ground.
4. After turning on the ignition, use a voltmeter to measure the supply voltage at the terminal "5" Wiring harness pads.
The voltage at the terminal must be at least 12 V. If the voltage does not reach the connector or is less than 12 V, the power supply circuit is faulty or the ECU is faulty.
5. Using a voltmeter, measure the supply voltage at terminal "4" of the wiring harness block.
The voltage at the terminal should be about 5 V. If the voltage is not normal, the sensor power supply circuit is faulty or the ECU is faulty.
6. Turn off the ignition.
Removal
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver or an 8 mm wrench, loosen the clamp securing the air outlet hose from the mass flow sensor housing and remove the hose from the sensor pipe.
2. Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the two bolts securing the sensor to the air filter housing and remove the sensor.
3. Remove the sealing ring from the sensor.
You can verify that the sensor is faulty by replacing it with a known good one.
Installation
The sensor is installed in the reverse order.
