Helpful Hint: The hood is quite heavy, so we recommend removing it and
install it with the help of two people and an assistant.
1. Disconnect the wire from the "–" terminal of the battery.
2. Open the hood and place it on the support.
3. If you are removing the hood for purposes other than replacement, mark the position of the hinges relative to the hood before removing.

4. Disconnect the engine compartment light wire connector.

5. Remove the rubber seal.

6. Remove the plastic clips from the hood soundproofing trim…

7. …and bend the cover to gain access to the engine compartment light wire.

8. Remove the engine compartment light wire through the hole in the hood reinforcement.

9. Disconnect the windshield washer hose from the tee…

10. …and pull the hose together with the sealing bushing out of the hole in the hood reinforcement.

11. Holding the hood, unscrew the two bolts securing the hood to the left hinge.

12. Similarly, unscrew the two bolts securing the hood to the right hinge and remove the hood.

13. Install the hood in the reverse order of removal, adjusting its position so that the gaps between the hood and both fenders are the same.
