Power supply system. Emulsion type carburetor, two-chamber, with falling flow and pneumatic drive for opening the throttle valve of the secondary chamber; has a balanced float chamber, a crankcase gas suction system behind the throttle valve, an economizer with a pneumatic drive (econostat), a diaphragm accelerator pump, an autonomous idle system, a forced idle economizer, a mesh filter at the fuel inlet. Air filter with a thermostat and a replaceable filter element made of special cardboard with a nylon wool pre-cleaner. Diaphragm fuel pump, with a mesh filter and a manual fuel pumping lever.
Crankcase ventilation system closed type, with oil separator and flame arrester.
Cooling system liquid, closed type, with a translucent expansion tank. The thermostat with solid filler is enclosed in a non-separable housing, connected to the system through hoses. The electric fan is fixed in the radiator casing, switched on automatically by a thermal switch located in the lower tank of the radiator.
Ignition system battery, rated voltage 12 V. Ignition distributor with centrifugal automatic and vacuum corrector of ignition timing angle, is driven by auxiliary drive shaft. Ignition coil B-117 or B-117A without additional resistance. Spark plugs A17DV or FE65P, have ISO thread M14x1.25-6E, 19 mm long. Initial setting of ignition timing angle (3-5° before TDC of compression stroke) — according to marks on crankshaft pulley and timing mechanism drive cover.
Gas exhaust system with three silencers arranged in series, the exhaust pipe at the rear.
Transmission
Clutch — single-disk, dry, with diaphragm pressure spring, clutch release drive — hydraulic.
Transmission - four-speed, with synchronizers on all forward gears; the gear shift lever is on the floor tunnel.
Gear ratios:
- first gear - 3.67
- second gear - 2.10
- third gear - 1.36
- fourth gear - 1.00
- reverse - 3.53
In the variant version, a five-speed gearbox can be installed with gear ratios of: 3.67; 2,10; 1,36; 1,00; 0,82; 3,53.
Cardan transmission - two shafts with intermediate elastic support. Front hinge - rubber, elastic; two cardan joints on needle bearings - at the ends of the rear shaft.
Rear axle - rigid beam; main gear - bevel, hypoid. Gear ratio 3.9.
Steering and wheels
Steering. Steering gear reducer with a globoid worm and roller on ball bearings. Gear ratio 16.4. Steering trapezoid — with a drive from the pitman arm and the middle rod with a pendulum lever to the side rods. The joints do not require periodic lubrication. Steering — trauma-safe.
Wheels disc, stamped: rim size 127J - 330 (5J - 13); four-bolt fastening. The spare wheel fits in the trunk.
Tires chambered, radial, size 175/70SR13 with a static radius of 265 mm or 165/80R13 [165SR13] with a static radius of 271 mm.
Suspension
Front suspension independent, on transverse swing arms with cylindrical springs, telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and anti-roll bar. The joints do not require periodic lubrication.
Rear suspension — with cylindrical springs, telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers, four longitudinal and one transverse rod.
Brakes
The hydraulic braking system is dual-circuit, consisting of two independent systems for braking the front and rear wheels.
Service brakes. The front brakes are disc brakes with two opposing hydraulic cylinders and automatic restoration of the specified gap. In the variant version, brake pads with a lining wear indicator can be installed.
Rear brakes — drum, with self-centering shoes, with hydraulic cylinders and automatic restoration of the specified gap. The front and rear brakes are driven by a foot pedal through a vacuum booster and a master brake cylinder with two coaxial pistons.
The pressure regulator in the rear brake system operates depending on the load on the rear axle and reduces the probability of locking the rear wheels during braking, and if locking occurs, it helps to prevent it on the front wheels, which reduces the possibility of skidding. The service brakes are combined with the emergency brake.
Hydraulic reservoir brakes with low brake fluid level alarm.
Parking brake manual, with cable drive to the rear wheel pads from a lever located on the floor tunnel between the front seats.
Electrical equipment
Electrical wiring system single-wire, the negative pole of the sources is connected to ground. Nominal voltage 12V.
Battery type 6ST-55A, charge 2·105 Cl (55 Ah) at 20-hour discharge mode. Current strength at accelerated discharge in cold state (at minus 18°C) 255 A.
Generator 37.3701 alternating current, with built-in rectifier on silicon diodes and electronic voltage regulator. Return current at crankshaft speed of 5000 min⁻¹ — 55 A.
In the variant version, a G-222 generator is installed with a return current at 5000 min⁻¹ — 45 A and without connecting a battery charge indicator lamp.
Radio "Bylina-207" or "Kruiz-201" can be installed at your request at a service station.
Starter ST-221, remote control, with electromagnetic activation and freewheel clutch. Power 1.3 kW.
Windscreen wiper electric, with two brushes. Has two operating modes - continuous and intermittent. Electric motor power 20 W.
Heater electric motor with a power of 20 W.
Ignition switch to turn on the ignition, start the engine, turn on the external lighting and instruments. Mounted on the steering column, equipped with an anti-theft device.
Sound signals - electrical.
Outdoor lighting and light signaling: headlamps, including: headlamps with halogen lamps, with a European asymmetrical low beam and with a parking light, direction indicators with orange lenses; rear lights, including: side lights and fog lights with red lenses, direction indicators with orange lenses, brake lights with red lenses, reversing lights with white lenses and reflectors with red lenses; rear number plate lights with white diffusers; side direction indicators with orange lenses.
Instrument cluster: speedometer with trip and odometer counters, tachometer, coolant temperature gauge, fuel gauge with fuel reserve indicator light, voltmeter, economy meter, indicator light block with indicator lights for direction indicators, carburetor choke, battery charge, side lights, high beam, low oil pressure, parking brake.
In the variant version, an oil pressure indicator with a warning lamp for insufficient oil pressure is installed in the instrument cluster instead of the economy meter.
Lamps. The installation locations and types of lamps are indicated in appendix 2.
Body
Body — sedan, monocoque, four-door. Door hinges are located in the front, front doors with one sliding window, rear doors — one fixed window, the second sliding window. Windshield and rear window with panoramic glass. Three-layer windshield, polished. Rear and side windows are tempered, polished. All glass is of the safety type. Rear window with electric heating. Front seats are separate, adjustable in the longitudinal direction to ensure comfortable seating for the driver and passenger. Seat backs are adjustable for tilt. Rear seat is fixed.
Ventilation and heating. Ventilation, heating, blowing of the windshield and front door windows are carried out by air sucked in from outside. The heating system is included in the engine cooling system. Air is distributed by air ducts located under the instrument panel.
To enhance air circulation, an electric fan with two operating modes is installed. At an ambient temperature of minus 25°C, the average temperature in the cabin with the heating fully on is 25°C, and in the driver's and passenger's footwell area 30°C. The car has exhaust ventilation through openings on the side panels, covered with decorative grilles.
Body equipment: instrument panel, cigarette lighter, ashtray on the instrument panel, ashtrays on the rear doors, glove box, sun visors, heater, electric windshield washer, outside and inside mirrors, grab handles above the right front and rear door openings (hangers are installed on the handrails above the rear doors), front and rear seat belts, shelf for first aid kit and small items, fire extinguisher mount under the driver's seat, front and rear bumpers with rubber pads, front and rear towing eyes, rear wheel aprons. Some of the cars produced are equipped with headlight washers and washers with electric drives.
