Oil pan
Every 500 km check the oil level on a cold, non-running engine and top up if necessary. The oil level should be between the "Min" and "Max" marks on the oil level indicator 1 (Fig. 23).

1 - oil level indicator; 2 - filler cap.
On a new engine replace the oil in the crankcase after the car has driven the first 2,000-3,000 km, 10,000 km and then every 10,000 km. Perform this operation on a hot engine. Drain the used oil through the hole closed with a plug in the oil pan. Pour in fresh oil through the neck closed with plug 2.
Seasonal oil change depends on the change of season, since when temperature conditions change, other brands of oils are used (see appendix 3).
Every 30,000 km mileage, flush the lubrication system. Flush the system before the specified period only in cases where sticky resinous deposits are found on the camshaft housing. Perform this operation on a hot engine in the following order:
- drain the old oil from the engine crankcase;
- fill the engine with special cleaning oil VNIINP-FD up to the "Min" mark and let the engine run at minimum crankshaft speed in idle mode for 10 minutes;
- drain the washing oil, replace the oil filter and fill with fresh oil according to the season.
Oil filter
Every 10,000 km, and on a new car after the first 2,000-3,000 km, replace the filter by unscrewing it from the cylinder block (Fig. 24). When installing the new filter in place, screw it in only with your hands, having previously lubricated the rubber sealing ring with engine oil.
