Description of the body structure (VAZ-2114)

The body is a hatchback, all-metal, welded, load-bearing structure (frameless). The body of the model 113 is three-door, and 114 is five-door. Removable body elements: front fenders, hood, doors, bumpers. The rigidity of the front bumper is given by a plastic energy-absorbing element. In the windows of the front bumper on some cars, fog lights are installed.

The doors and front fenders of the car are fitted with decorative trims.

Door window lifters can be either mechanical or electrically operated. Windshield, rear and side (non-drop) glass - installed in the body openings on rubber seals. Since 2005, athermal glass has been installed on some cars. It has a greenish tint and prevents intensive heating of the air in the cabin in sunny weather.

The front doors are equipped with external rear-view mirrors that can be adjusted from inside the car.

The tailgate has a spoiler with an additional brake light. The bumpers are made of plastic and painted in the body color.

The rigidity of the rear bumper is ensured by a steel channel.

The front seats are separate, equipped with headrests, have longitudinal movement and backrest tilt adjustments. The rear seat is three-seater, non-adjustable, folding. Two headrests are installed on the back of the rear seat.

The driver and passenger seats are equipped with seat belts. The central place of the rear seat is equipped with a lap belt, the rest - with inertia belts with three attachment points.
