All units and parts of the body, except for hinged units, are connected into a single whole by resistance spot welding, and heavily loaded parts are additionally welded by electric arc welding.

The front of the body consists of a shield 47 (pic. 168) front end, mudguards 48 front fenders, crossbars 1 and 51, front suspension struts 8, radiator frame struts 52, headlight covers 50, amplifier 46 of the front panel and other parts.
The floor of the body includes three main parts: the front 42, the rear 40 floor panels and the rear floor 38. The front panel of the floor has a trough-shaped section, in the middle it has a tunnel for exhaust pipes. The rear floor has rear spars. Front 43, middle 39 crossbars are welded to the floor of the body.
Each of the sidewalls consists of outer 14 and inner 20 panels, made in one piece with central and rear pillars, with openings for side windows and doors. Linings 16, amplifiers 17, 18 and 22, extensions 24, arches 33 of the rear wheels and other small parts are welded to the sidewalls.
The roof panel 19 has a reinforcement 21. A wind window frame 15 is welded to the panel in front. The A-pillars have 18 reinforcements to increase the rigidity of the frame.
At the back, a panel 32 of the tailgate with a cross member 31 is welded to the sidewalls and the floor of the tailgate.
Removable units are hung on the body: front fenders 4, front doors, tailgate, hood 11, bumpers, radiator lining and others.
The main body parts are stamped from low-carbon steel grade 08kp, external panels - 08yu. The thickness of the main parts is 0.8mm; roof panels, rear, hood, front fenders - 0.7 mm; amplifiers - 1-1.5 mm; floor crossbars - 0.1 mm; front and rear suspension spring supports - 2.0 mm. Various small body parts (connectors, brackets, extensions) are stamped from steel with a thickness of 0.8-2.5 mm.
