The car is equipped with an anti-theft system APS-4 (immobilizer, immobilizer), consisting of a control unit, a system status indicator and code keys.
The immobilizer is an electronic unit that prevents unauthorized starting of the engine, opening the necessary electrical circuits and working in conjunction with electronic engine management system.
The immobilizer enters the armed mode automatically when the ignition is turned off.
To check the activity of the anti-theft system:
First of all, make sure that the anti-theft system is connected and in an inactive state. To do this, close all vehicle doors except the driver's door, get into the vehicle and close the driver's door.
The dome light should remain on for another 12 seconds after the driver's door is closed, and then slowly go out.
Turn the ignition on, the system status indicator LED should turn on and stay on while the ignition is on. In this case, you can proceed to the procedure for transferring the anti-theft system to the active state, i.e. carry out the so-called «education» systems with code keys, which then become individual for each anti-theft system.
If the system status indicator LED flashes at a rate of 2 times per second when the ignition is on, this means that your vehicle's anti-theft system has already been set to the active state.
