Anti-theft system APS-4 (VAZ-2115)

The car is equipped with an APS-4 anti-theft system (immobilizer, immobilizer), consisting of a control unit, a system status indicator and code keys.

The immobilizer is an electronic unit that prevents unauthorized engine starting, opening of the necessary electrical circuits and works together with electronic engine management system.

The immobilizer switches to security mode automatically when the ignition is turned off.

To check the anti-theft system activity:

First of all, make sure that the anti-theft system is connected and inactive. To do this, close all the doors of the car except the driver's door, get into the car and close the driver's door.

The interior light should remain on for another 12 seconds after the driver's door is closed and then gradually go out.

Turn on the ignition, the LED of the system status indicator should light up and remain lit continuously while the ignition is on. In this case, you can proceed to the procedure of transferring the anti-theft system to the active state, i.e. carry out the so-called "training" of the system with code keys, which then become individual for each anti-theft system.

If the system status indicator LED flashes twice per second when the ignition is on, this means that your vehicle's anti-theft system has already been set to active.
