Checking the level and density of the liquid in the cooling system (VAZ-21051)

The correct filling of the cooling system is checked by the liquid level in the expansion tank, which on a cold engine (at 15–200°C) should be 3–4 mm above the "MIN" mark on the expansion tank.

Warning! Do not use household detergents. To avoid damaging the washer pump.

If necessary, check the coolant density with a hydrometer, which should be 1.078–1.085 g/cm³. At low density and at high density (more than 1.085–1.095 g/cm³), the crystallization temperature of the liquid increases, which can lead to its freezing in the cold season.

If the fluid level in the tank is below normal and the density is above normal, then add distilled water. If the density is normal, add fluid of the same density and brand as that in the cooling system.

If the density of the liquid in the cooling system is below normal, bring it up to normal using TOSOL-A liquid.
