Removal from vehicle
1. Drain the radiator and cylinder block by removing the drain plugs in the lower radiator tank and on the cylinder block; at the same time, open the valve of the body heater, and remove the radiator cap from the filler neck.
2. Disconnect hoses from radiator.
3. Remove the fan shroud.
4. Turn away bolts of fastening of a radiator to a body, take out a radiator from an engine compartment.
Leak test
The tightness of the radiator is checked in a bath of water.
1. Having muffled the radiator pipes, bring air to it at a pressure of 0.1 MPa (1 kgf/cm2) and soak in a bath of water for at least 30 seconds. In this case, air etching should not be observed.
2. Solder minor damage to the brass radiator with soft solder, and in case of significant damage, replace the radiator with a new one.
