To adjust the headlights:
- place a fully fueled and equipped vehicle with a load of 750 N (75 kgf) on the driver's seat and with normal air pressure in the tires on a horizontal platform at a distance of 5 m from a white screen (Fig. 64) located in the shade. A light wall of a house can serve as a screen;
- draw on the screen the axial line "O" and symmetrically to it the lines "A" and "B", located in the planes passing through the centers of the headlights. At the height "b", corresponding to the distance of the centers of the headlights from the floor, draw line 1, and below it by 75 mm - line 2;
- set the hydraulic corrector knob on the instrument panel to the zero position. If the car without a headlight hydraulic corrector is equipped with headlights with mounting screws 4 (Fig. 65), then turn these screws to the extreme left position;
- turn on the low beam headlights and, closing each headlight in turn, turn adjusting screws 1 and 5 until the light-shadow boundary coincides with line 2 (Fig. 64), and the inclined sections come out of points "E".
