1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the windshield wiper arms (see "Windscreen wiper - removal and installation").
3. Remove the interior rearview mirror (see "Interior rear view mirror - removal and installation").
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the three screws securing the left body pillar trim.
5. Remove the cover.
6. In one of the upper corners of the windshield, use a slotted screwdriver to tuck the edge of the seal behind the edge of the body opening and use a screwdriver (1) to fix it in this position. Using a second slotted screwdriver (2), starting from the installation location of the first, tuck the glass seal behind the edge of the opening alternately in both directions. In this way, we move the seal along the upper and side edges of the windshield behind the flanging.
7. Remove the glass from the opening.
8. Remove the seal from the glass.
9. Clean the seal from dirt.
10. Place clean cardboard, paper or some other material that does not scratch glass on the hood of the car.
11. Place the new glass on it with the outer side down.
12. We put a seal on the glass around the perimeter.
13. Insert the cord into the seal.
14. In the middle of the lower edge of the glass, we make a small overlap (10-15 cm) of the ends of the cord.
Tip: To ensure that the glass fits better in the opening, cover the seal slots or the body edging with soapy water or silicone grease.
15. Place the glass with the seal in the opening and center it. It should be exactly in the middle of the opening. Bring the ends of the cord into the passenger compartment.
16. An assistant from the outside presses the glass against the body in the places where the cord is pulled out.
17. In the passenger compartment, pull the ends of the cord one by one, dragging the edge of the glass seal over the flanging of the opening.
18. First, move the edge of the seal along the lower edge of the glass and, using your hands, press on its upper edge, lower the glass as much as possible. Then pull the cord along the two sides, and lastly - from the top of the glass in the direction from the edges to the center.
19. Install the pillar trims, rear view mirror and windshield wiper arms.
