1. Remove the decorative steering column trims (see "Decorative steering column trims - removal and installation").
2. Disconnect the ignition switch (lock) wiring harness connectors.
3. With a multimeter (in ohmmeter mode) we check the serviceability of the terminal connections in the socket.
Note: Perform the check when the key is in position 0 - "off". Then check the closure of the contacts in position I - "on" and II - "starter".

We replace the ignition switch with a faulty contact group.
