1. Remove the decorative steering column trims (see "Decorative steering column trims - removal and installation").
2. Disconnect the ignition switch wiring harness connectors.
3. With a multimeter (in ohmmeter mode) we check the serviceability of the terminal connections in the socket.
Note: Perform the check when the key is in position 0 - "off". Then check the closure of contacts in position I - "on" and II - "starter".
The closing of the contacts is shown in the figure. The contacts of the microswitch are closed when the ignition key is removed from the lock.
We replace the ignition switch with a faulty contact group.
