1. Remove the steering column trim (see "Decorative overlays of a steering column - removal and installation").
2. Disconnect the ignition switch wiring harness blocks.
3. Multimeter (in ohmmeter mode) we check the serviceability of the closure of the terminals in the block.
Comment. Carry out the test with the key in position 0 - "turned off". Then check the contact closure in position I - "included" and II- "starter".
The contact closure is shown in the figure. The microswitch contacts close when the ignition key is removed from the lock.
We replace the ignition lock with a faulty contact group.
