Tip: It is best to change the oil immediately after a ride, while it is hot, so the oil drains faster and more completely along with suspended wear particles.
Warning! The temperature of the heated oil can reach 90°C, be careful.
To complete the work you will need:
- viewing hole or flyover;
- wide capacity of at least 4 liters;
- funnel or special syringe.
Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. We install a container under the drain hole of the gearbox housing.
3. Ring wrench by 17 mm unscrew the drain plug.
4. Drain the oil.
5. After waiting for the oil to completely drain from the box, we wrap the plug in place.
Tip: If the oil drained from the gearbox is dark in color and metal particles are visible in it, the gearbox should be flushed. To do this, pour 1-1.5 liters of special flushing oil into the crankcase of the box. With one of the drive wheels out of the way, start the engine and engage first gear. After 5-7 min. turn off the engine, drain the flushing oil and refill with clean gear oil.
6. Remove the oil level indicator (see above, "Gearbox - oil level check").
7. We wipe the pointer, removing oil from it.
8. Through the hole of the pointer with a syringe or through a funnel, with a tube put on it (hose), pour 3.3 liters of gear oil into the gearbox.
The oil level in the box is controlled by the pointer.
9. Install the oil level indicator in place.
