Location of the oil drain plug.
Frequency: Change oil every 75,000 km or 5 years.
Gearbox housing capacity:
- five-speed - 3.3 l;
- four-speed - 3.0 l.
Manufacturer's recommended transmission oil type:
- "REXOL T" (80W-85; GL-4);
- "OMSKoil Trans P" (80W-85; GL-4/5);
- "VOLNEZ TM4" (80W-90; GL-4).
We recommend draining the oil immediately after driving, while the gearbox is still warm.
The optimum oil level is the upper mark on the oil level indicator (dipstick). Do not fill the oil above the upper mark, as it may leak from the gearbox. The lower mark indicates the minimum permissible oil level. If the oil level drops below this mark, the gearbox will quickly fail.
It is recommended to change the oil on an inspection pit, a lift, or by raising the car with a jack and placing it on supports.
1. Before changing the oil, remove the rubber cap, wash it and clean the hole in the breather with a wire. Then put the cap back in place.
2. Unscrew the oil drain plug, having first placed a container under the gearbox to collect the drained oil. Drain the oil and screw in the oil drain plug.
3. Remove the oil level indicator (dipstick).
4. Fill in new oil through the hole under the indicator.
5. Wipe the pointer with a cloth and put it back in place.
6. Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level in the gearbox. If necessary, add oil to the gearbox up to the upper mark.
7. On earlier gearboxes (without oil level indicator) the oil filler hole is located on the right side of the gearbox housing.
8. Unscrew the plug and fill the gearbox with oil using a syringe up to the lower edge of the oil filler hole.
