1. Disconnect the wire from the "–" terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the right instrument panel center console panel (see "Removal and installation the instrument panel shield").
3. Move the wiring harness connector retainer aside…
4. …and disconnect the connector from the controller.
5. Unscrew the two nuts securing the controller and relay unit to the instrument panel bracket…
6. …remove the engine management system relay unit…
7. …and remove the bracket with the controller.

8. Loosen the controller mounting nuts and remove the controller from the bracket.
9. Install the controller in the reverse order of removal.
