Throttle position sensor (TPS) mounted on the side of the throttle assembly and connected to the throttle valve axis.
You will need a screwdriver.
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «–» battery.
2. Press the latch and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the throttle position sensor.
3. Remove the two screws securing the sensor to the throttle assembly..
4.... and remove the sensor along with the foam pad.
5. To check the health of the sensor, measure the resistance between the contacts «2» and «3» sensor pads (the marking of the contacts is applied to the block). Move throttle from fully closed to fully open position. For a serviceable sensor, the resistance should change evenly within 2.7–8.2 kOhm.
6. Install the sensor on the throttle assembly in the reverse order of removal. Replace the foam sealing ring if necessary.
