Cold engine starting
1. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to position "1". This will start the glow plugs to warm up and the corresponding indicator on the instrument panel will light up.
2. After the indicator goes off, indicating that the glow plugs have reached operating temperature, turn on the starter without pressing the accelerator pedal.
If the engine does not start on the first try, turn the key to position "0" and after about a minute, warm up the spark plugs again and turn on the starter. It is not recommended to turn on the starter for more than 10 seconds.
3. After starting the engine, pull out the ignition control corrector handle and press it in after the engine has warmed up.
Reliable engine starting without additional starting devices is ensured down to minus 25°C.
Starting a hot engine
The procedure for starting a hot engine corresponds to the recommendations for starting a cold engine, but there is no need to use the ignition timing corrector handle.
