It is recommended to start driving the car with a warmed-up engine. If you do not have this opportunity and you warm up the engine while driving the car, then at low ambient temperatures and after a long period of parking, it is recommended to drive for some time in lower gears with a low engine crankshaft speed. As the oil in the gearbox and rear axle warms up, successively shift to higher gears.
While driving, do not exceed the maximum permissible speeds, even on a descent, indicated on the speedometer by red marks near the numbers 40, 60 and 100, corresponding to 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears.
While driving, monitor the operation of various units using the corresponding instruments and indicators. Under normal conditions, all red indicators should not light. When they turn on, it signals the need to check the corresponding unit.
After crossing fords, as well as after washing the car or during prolonged driving on a wet road, when water gets into the brake mechanisms of the wheels, perform several smooth braking movements while driving to dry the discs, drums and brake linings.
When driving through puddles, reduce speed to avoid hydroplaning, which can cause skidding or loss of control. Worn tires increase this danger.
If possible, drive at moderate speeds. Sharp acceleration and deceleration, driving at high speeds lead to rapid tire wear and excessive fuel consumption. Fuel consumption also increases with insufficient air pressure in the tires, with worn or dirty spark plugs, with improper adjustment of the carburetor idle system.
Fuel consumption and tire wear also increase when towing a trailer. In addition, towing a trailer increases the load on the body, engine and transmission, which reduces their service life.
