Headlight adjustment scheme
The direction of the light beams of the headlights should be such that the road in front of the car is well lit, and the drivers of oncoming vehicles are not blinded when the dipped beam is turned on.
1. Headlights are adjusted by turning screws 1 and 5 (see fig. View of the headlight from the engine compartment), which rotate the optical element in the vertical and horizontal planes. It is most convenient to adjust the headlights with the help of mobile optical devices. If they are not, then the adjustment can be carried out using the screen.
2. Place a fully fueled and equipped car with a load of 735 N (75 kgf) on the driver's seat on a flat horizontal area 5 m from a smooth wall or any screen (plywood shield about 2x1 m in size, etc.) so that the axis of the car was perpendicular to it.
3. Before marking the screen, make sure that the air pressure in the tires is normal, and then rock the car from the side so that the suspension springs are installed.
4. Draw on screen (see fig. Headlight adjustment scheme) vertical lines: axial 0 and lines A and B passing through points E, corresponding to the centers of the headlights. These lines must be symmetrical about the center line of the vehicle. At a height n, corresponding to the distance of the headlight centers from the floor, draw line 1 and 75 mm below it, line 2 of the centers of light spots.
5. Set the headlight hydrocorrector knob on the instrument panel to the position corresponding to the load of the car by one driver. If the car does not have a headlight hydrocorrector, then turn the set screws (see fig. View of the headlight from the engine compartment) inserted into the block headlights instead of the working cylinders of the hydraulic corrector to the extreme left position.
6. Turn on low beam headlights.
7. Sequentially, first for the right headlight (the left is covered with a piece of cardboard or dark matter or turned off), and then for the left (right closed) adjust the headlight beams with screws 1 and 5.
8. For adjusted headlights, the upper border of the light spots must coincide with line 2 (see fig. Headlight adjustment scheme), and the points of intersection of the horizontal and inclined sections of the light spots - with points E.
