We lift the rear of the car and remove the wheel.
Remove the brake drum (see Replacing the brake drum).
We press on the support stand cup and, turning it 90°, remove it and the spring.
We remove the cup of the other shoe in the same way.
Using a large screwdriver, remove the lower parts of both brake pads from the support.
We remove the lower tension spring.
We move the shoe to the side, releasing the spacer bar, and remove the bar.
We remove the upper tension spring.
Disconnect the parking brake drive lever from the cable end.
We use pliers to remove the cotter pin from the finger.
We remove the lever, washer and pin from the shoe.
We install new pads in the reverse order of removal.
Before installing the pads with new linings, loosen the tension of the parking brake cable. Move the pistons of the wheel cylinder inward with sliding pliers. After installing the brake drum, sharply and strongly press the brake pedal so that the thrust rings in the wheel cylinder take their places. Adjust the parking brake (see Removal components and adjusting the parking brake system).
