To replace the rear parking brake cable, hang and remove the rear wheels (better at the same time).
Lower the parking brake lever to its lowest position.
Pliers disconnect the spring from the front (short) cable.
Two keys «at 13» loosen the adjusting and locking nuts and...
... we turn them away, holding the tip of the front cable with pliers.
We remove the equalizer.
Remove the brake drum and shoe from its support (see Replacing the brake pads of the rear wheels).
Disconnect the tip of the cable from the lever.
key «for 8» unscrew the two bolts securing the cable to the brake shield and...
... take out the cable from the shield.
key «on 10» unscrew the two nuts securing the cable bracket to the body and,...
... having removed the bracket, we release the cable.
Disconnect the tip of the cable sheath from the bracket by sliding it back and down.
Similarly, remove the second branch of the rear parking brake cable.
To replace only the front parking brake cable, we perform the work shown in photo 1–4.
In the cabin, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the self-tapping screw securing the protective cover.
For convenience, it is advisable to remove the driver's seat (see Front seat replacement).
We remove the cover.
key «on 10» unscrew the four screws securing the lever mechanism to the body.
We remove the lever assembly with the cable.
Having unpinned the axle, remove the cable from it.
We assemble the components of the parking brake system in the reverse order of removal or disassembly, and check the adjustment of the drive.
We lower the lever to the stop. We tighten the cable with an adjusting nut so that the full stroke of the lever up with a force of 40 kgf is 2–4 teeth («clicks») by sector.
When the lever is fully lowered, the wheels should rotate freely, without jamming.
