Running in a new car (VAZ-21099)

During the vehicle break-in period (first 2000 km of run) intensive running-in of parts occurs. The reliability, durability and economy of your car will depend on proper operation during this period. A new car or a car with a replaced one should undergo running-in (completely renovated) engine.

During the vehicle break-in period, we recommend:

1. Only move off in first gear.

2. Warm up the engine at idle speed before driving.

3. Start driving only after the engine runs steadily with the carburetor choke fully open.

4. When driving, do not exceed the speeds indicated in the table below.

5. During the running-in period, do not over-rev the engine: engage the gear appropriate to the driving speed in a timely manner.

6. Avoid driving in deep snow, sand, mud.

7. Do not change the factory-filled engine oil.

8. Do not tow a trailer and try to avoid towing other vehicles if possible.
