After installing on the stand and starting the engine, check: oil pressure; setting the ignition timing; idle speed; whether there is any leakage of coolant or fuel between mating parts, from pipe connections and through gaskets; is there any oil leakage from under the oil filter sealing ring?; are there any extraneous knocks?.
If any extraneous knocks or malfunctions are detected, stop the engine, eliminate them, and then continue testing.
If oil leaks through the gasket between the cover and the cylinder head or through the gaskets between the engine oil pan, cylinder block and covers, tighten the mounting bolts to the recommended torque. If the oil leak does not stop, check whether the gaskets are installed correctly and replace them if necessary.
